SPRING into Omaha! Upcoming Events & Attractions

Now that your home is spotless from all the spring cleaning tips covered in last week’s post, it’s time to leave it! It’s time to get out of the house and get into the groove of all the wonderful springtime happenings going on right here in Omaha. This week’s post is dedicated to the start of a new season – one happily spent experiencing the weather and the city in all its glory. Below is a compilation of upcoming events and attractions for you, family, friends and anyone else interested in enjoying what Omaha has to offer. So enjoy my friends, and happy spring!

Spring Fever Craft Show in Rockbrook Village

Saturday May, 7th 10am-5pm

I always love an excuse to go to Rockbrook Village. With an impressive list of amazing restaurants and shops in a quaint little area of town, it’s the perfect place for pre-summer entertainment. If you’re feeling crafty, or just want to people watch over a nice glass of wine or cheese plate from Corkscrew, then plan on attending the Spring Fever Craft Show.

Lauritzen Gardens Easter Extravaganza

Saturday March 26th 9am-12pm

Easter is a busy time around Omaha, and there are many public Easter Egg Hunts scheduled across the city all Easter weekend long. Lauritzen Gardens is participating in the fun with their Easter Extravaganza featuring the Easter Bunny, candy, crafts and more.


The Century Link Center

The Century Link calendar is always a good place to start when trying to find something exciting going on. Here is a list of all the impressive attractions set to hit the Century Link Stage during the month of April. There’s something for just about everybody!

Are you a baseball fan itching for the start of the 2016 season and counting down the days to the CWS? I have just the place for you! And, even if you’re not, you can still enjoy a nice night in the park – TD Ameritrade Park that is – watching the Men’s Creighton College Baseball team battle it out every weekend in April. Fish Fry 5K @ Aksarben Village

Friday April 1st from 6pm-8pm

Fish + Fitness = Fun? Aksarben Village seems to think so. If you do too, you should consider stopping by Aksarben Village Friday April 1st from 6pm-8pm for their fifth annual Fish Fry 5K where you can enjoy the outdoors in the race, then enjoy fish, beer (provided by DJ's Dugout), music and awards shortly after.

The Old Market

If you’re searching for something more arts and less crafts, check out the “Spring Air” exhibition featuring paintings and mixed media presented by the Artists Cooperative Gallery located at 405 S 11th St, Omaha, NE 68102. The show runs from Tuesday March 29th through Sunday April 30th with an Opening Reception Friday April 1st from 6-9pm.

The Slowdown

Not the type to make plans too far in advance? The Slowdown may be the place for you and springtime entertainment. A bar and entertainment venue close to the Old Market, TD Ameritrade Park and other stores and shops, The Slowdown offers a continual list of small or local indie-rock bands that play practically every week, so if you want to get your groove on without worrying about getting tickets until the last minute, or even right at the door, this may be the perfect place to do so.
