Our next neighborhood spotlight is the town of Bennington! According to www.bennigntonne.com, Bennington was founded in 1887 and incorporated in 1892. Bennington is conveniently located just 10 miles north of Omaha and is a part of Douglas County. The original name of the town was “Bunz Town” and switched to Bennington later after the railroad extended into the town. Local businesses and restaurants include The Warehouse, Sportsman Bar and Grill, and Grinders Coffee.
Bennington is home to one school district, Bennington Public Schools. It consists of one high school, one middle school and three elementary schools (Bennington Elementary, Pine Creek Elementary and Heritage Elementary). A fourth elementary school, Anchor Pointe Elementary, is currently being built and will open in 2020.
Bennington is known for being a family-oriented town and many chose it to raise their own family as it provides a small town feel close to Omaha. Some popular subdivisions in Bennington include: Anchor Pointe, Bennington Lake, Bennington Park West, Hanover Falls, Highland Hills, Majestic Pointe, Pine Creek, Shadowbrook, Stratford Park, Waterford and the newest subdivision being Summer Hill Farm.
H3 Custom Homes represented by The Jacobsen Group, has 5 lots available in Summer Hill Farm for those looking to make the move or stay in Bennington.
